Everyone keeps talking about the dangers of texting and driving. Everyone also knows that people continue to do it and put themselves and others at risk. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then this "health positive" ad done by some of my Health students should make it clear. They made this using a Flip Camera and Movie Maker software. They had some help from a PA State trooper friend. Looks authentic doesn't it?

Six Reasons Why You Should Be A Beachbody Coach
I am a Beachbody Coach. There are a lot of good reasons why you should be one too.
1. It's FREE to become a coach until January 7. Normally the start-up kit costs almost $40.00. This is a great reason to sign up NOW!
2. You can be part of a great organization trying to beat back the obesity epidemic in this country. This is part of my New Year's resolution. I want to help others become healthier. This whole obesity thing is scaring me :(
3. If you are on any type of Beachbody home direct service (like Shakeology), you will save money by being a coach, even if you are not interested in the business end of coaching. I save about $180.00 per year on Shakeology by being a coach.
4. You will have the opportunity to build a business without the scary loans, start-up costs, or the purchase of inventory that you are not sure you can sell.
5. Any time you buy ANY Beachbody product, you will save 25% on the cost.
6. Once you are a coach, you can network with many people who are fitness minded like you. These people also can be a big help if you want to grow your business. There are many networking opportunities through webinars, conference calls and seminars all over the country. When you feel like you are the only one trying to eat healthy and exercise, it's nice to know there are other people out there like you.
So if you have been thinking about starting your own small business, or you would just like discounts on your workout programs and supplements, there is no time like right now. Click here before January 7th. Click on "become a coach" I'd be glad to be your coach sponsor. Questions? E-mail me at suek1185@gmail.com

Really? More States Let Kids Skip Phys. Ed.
US overweight rates for adults is over 60%. Childhood overweight rates are approaching 30%. Thirty two out of 50 states now allow students to have waivers to opt out of Physical Education. What's wrong with this picture?
Students can opt out of P.E. for religious reasons, if they are in after school sports, or even if they participate in marching band. Some schools offer online PE. Really? Online? The good part of that plan is they learn about fitness and nutrition. The bad part is they are to exercise on their own. Hmm. Not really sure a kid who opts out of PE to take it online will be exercising on his/her own.
Why are students given waivers to opt out of PE by the various schools around the country? To save money and to free up time for students to take more academic courses. Studies show that physical fitness and higher scores in academics go hand in hand. Maybe school administators and school board members haven't read those studies. The money America saves in it's school systems will be spent tenfold taking care of overweight Americans as they age.
Recently we had an in-service day where our PE department was asked to come up with creative ideas for running a PE program if class time were cut by 30 to 50 percent. Hmmm..wonder what someone is planning for the future of our PE program?
